To support the 100th anniversary celebration of Maserati at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion August 14-17, noted Italian car collector Lawrence Auriana is sending not only key race and passenger cars to Monterey, but also a vintage 1952 Fiat 642 Maserati race car transporter.

Bonhams to Preview Ultra-Rare Ferrari 250 GTO at Monterey Pre-Reunion Before Going to Auction

An example of arguably the most famous and sought-after classic race car ever – the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO – will be previewed by Bonhams at the Monterey Pre-Reunion August 9 and 10. The classic race car, of which only 39 were constructed, will be shown in the Bonhams hospitality area at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca where the historic car racing is taking place.

Can-Am Group Provides a Thunderous Return to Monterey

Returning to their familiar home where they ran unbridled in the ‘60s and early ‘70s, thundering Can-Am cars will be a popular group this year at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. Held August 14-17 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, the event is a collection of 550 authentic and period-correct race cars from nearly every decade of motorsports.

Derek Hill to Drive Rare Maserati Tipo 151 in Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion

American race driver Derek Hill, son of World Champion Phil Hill, will strap himself behind the wheel of the lone surviving Maserati Tipo 151, of which only three were ever constructed, to race in the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion August 14-17 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Maserati is this year’s featured marque and will officially celebrate its 100th anniversary at the motorsports gathering.

Arguably the greatest all-around racing driver of his time and a true icon of the motor racing world, Sir Stirling Moss will be the honored guest at the Picnic in the Park at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion on Saturday, August 16. Historian Murray Smith will conduct the always engaging noontime session in the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca marketplace where fans may bring their lunch, listen to stories and ask questions. The Saturday-only picnic is a popular activity that allows fans to engage with a driving legend.

A name synonymous with racing, the Chevrolet Corvette will commemorate its 60th anniversary in style as the featured marque of this year’s Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, August 16-18. In celebration of the Corvette’s storied history, Chevrolet has assembled a collection of rare Corvettes from nearly every year to create a special exhibition for visitors to enjoy.

Among those on display in this Corvette-only exhibition will be the iconic No. 9 car, which graces the event’s poster, and famously raced in the 1967 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Formula One Legend and Current Corvette Racing Star to Share Stories

Joining in on the off-track fun at this year’s Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is three-time Formula 1 World Champion and racing legend Sir Jackie Stewart.

Stewart will be joined by current Corvette Racing star Tommy Milner as the two drivers share their tales from the track. Fans will be treated to untold stories from the grid as Stewart and Milner compare the racing world of old and new.

Following the discussion there will be a question and answer period where fans may interact with the drivers and ask questions.

Comedian Adam Carolla to Entertain On and Off Track

Carolla and Dr. Drew Reunite on Tour

Comedian and car enthusiast Adam Carolla returns to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca this year to compete in the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, a cornerstone of the Monterey Peninsula’s Classic Car Week. Driving his 1988 Nissan 300ZX, Carolla will be featured in race group 6B.

Carolla will also display his more humorous, off-track talents as he and Dr. Drew Pinsky team-up at the Sunset Center in Carmel on August 16 at 8 p.m. for a live performance of their popular show, Loveline. To purchase tickets for the performance, visit www.sunsetcenter.org.
