WATCH REPLAY OF ROLEX MONTEREY MOTORSPORTS REUNION LIVESTREAM COVERAGE
12 Hours of Livestream Coverage Aug. 19-20
Those who were unable to visit the scenic Monterey Peninsula on August 17-20 to see a museum spring to life on the iconic Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for the annual Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion are still able to follow the prestigious event with live coverage provided by TEN: The Enthusiast Network.
Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and TEN: The Enthusiast Network announced details about this year’s livestream of the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion that will air on August 19 at 1:30 p.m. and August 20 at 12:30 p.m. PST. TEN: The Enthusiast Network returns for the second year as the Official Media Provider for the livestream and will broadcast the race on Motor Trend OnDemand and the Motor Trend YouTube channel.
The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is the largest event held during the famed Monterey Classic Car Week. Approximately 550 race cars are accepted from approximately 1,000 entry applications to compete in the country’s premier historic motoring event. Each entry is scrutinized and accepted based on the car’s authenticity, race provenance and period correctness.
This year, the event celebrates the 60th anniversary of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca that includes a Racing Through the Decades feature display of race cars with history that ties into the track. Also being honored are the 60th anniversary of Formula Junior, which will have two run groups at the event (drum brakes/front engine and disc brakes), and the 70th anniversary of Ferrari.
A Picnic in the Paddock Q&A will take place on Saturday featuring endurance racing legend Tom Kristensen. “Mr. Le Mans” will visit the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion for the first time and field questions. Two-time Formula 1 world champion Mika Häkkinen will also be on hand at the event making spirited exhibition laps in the McLaren M23 that Emerson Fittipaldi drove to the 1974 title.
“We are extremely excited to be working with the Rolex Reunion for the second year,” says TEN’s SVP and General Manager of Original Programming Bobby Akin. “This is truly one of the most special events in all of motorsport and we are proud to bring unprecedented live coverage. Nowhere else will you find this collection of rare and priceless cars doing what they were built to do….Race!”
A world-class broadcast team of Justin Bell, Ralph Sheheen, Bob Varsha, and Mike Joy, the voice of NASCAR on FOX, will bring over 12 hours of live coverage on Saturday and Sunday. For those interested in experience the event in person, tickets are available at www.mazdaraceway.com.
